Anyone know if this is original? I think it might be the original upper and posts, bolted to a base?

It's the same as the one on my '87 18', and also identical to my neighbor's '85 20'.

1989. When I removed it you could see where the original mounting holes were prior to the base being added. The base is pretty heavy.

I'll post in for sale if anyone is interested.
