23' Floors
This winter I will be redoing the floor in my 84 Seacraft. Just wanted some insight of how the best way to go about it is. The wood underneath is good from best I can tell. Cut about a 3x3 place where the glass had delaminated and wood was solid. The glass is cracking in some spots and then alittle bit of mositure is getting in and the glass in losing its hold. I was thinking of striping all the glass off the wood from the front step up all the way back to the transom, letting it dry for a week or two or three, and coming back with some 1/2 OR 3/4 inch decking board to raise up the floor, but not going all the way to the side leaving about a 2 inch wide channel for water. I quess my question is what would be the best board to buy to screw to the original deck and the best glass, epoxy, etc... to use?
I believe this will cure my deck in the future from spider cracking all the time!
First time taking on a project like this, but have done right much smaller scale work.
If someone thinks going about it a different way feel free to share, I am open to all possibilities.
Thanks!
