Hey guys, just wanted to share my progress on my restoration. I uploaded the photos from what I accomplished on my DropBox, take a quick look. I purchased the boat in July of 2015 and started restoration on December 2nd. Ive done a lot of research on both Mako boat and Seacraft and ended up with a great deal on this yellow sea craft in great condition (transom wise and hull, cap ended up being a major restore due to not glassing the rod holders from previous owner).
This projected ended up being a huge nightmare from the very beginning! I would have never imagined how much work goes into fully restoring a boat so I applaud all you who've taken that path! I did have a fiberglass guy help me with all the major work. I, however, did all the heavy extensive labor needed to de-rig and prep. Weather has been terrible in Florida, countless days with storms and rain postponed the completion date. Im almost to the end right now so I have a lot of questions to finish the boat. My fiberglass guy ended up quitting on me since he has health issues and lost interest since he under quoted the job and figured what is owed is not worth it. I have left to complete the transom cap to finish and also the baitwell to finish up as far as fiberglass goes. The finishing touches are to paint it and put back together once we're done with the transom. We estimated to be done by beginning of March but that didn't happen, really bummed about it but the weather conditions for fishing and booze cruising is still terrible. So that's my background on the boat. Glad to be a part of the forum, been trying to join for a while but no time with work and working on the boat for too damn long. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1crbxzy52...xoRHqAI2a?dl=0 |
