Recommendations on a leaning post width?

Hey guys I am in the process of completing a new custom console for my 20’ and I’m having a leaning post made. The console is skinny at only about 26” wide but will have 3” rod holder pods on each side making the total width 32” I know I’m splitting hairs here but I can’t decide whether to go with a 30” or 32” wide leaning post. I’m concerned that the 32 is too wide for a console that is 26” at the top yet I’m afraid 30” is getting small for seating. Any opinions out there? What do you have on your seacraft? Post em up!
