HA SCOTT
I HAVE A 15 GAL HOLDING TANK THAT I PLAN ON MOUNDING UNDER THE CENTER CONSOL WE GOT LOT’S OF ROOM UNDER THERE BOTH FOR STUFF AND TO GET EASILY TO IT. I HAVE A PUMP/MOTOR THAT WILL SIPHON UP THE WATER TO THE HOSE. I AM STILL A FEW WEEKS AWAY BEFORE I THINK OF INSTALLING IT.

I guess I deserved that.....Oh yeah ..Steve didnt you say you had a Plexiglas water tank

Fellow-Ship Thats what my initial instinct was ....to either remove the deck under the forward part of the console to open that bilge area up or at least put a hatch there so I can use that space....I was thinking that the fuel tank may creep up into that area....Isnt that where your tank is now that I think of it?? or do you mean mounting the water tank right on the deck in the console?

I was even thinking of getting one of those flexible bladder tanks and putting it in the locker under the casting platform......theres alot of space forward of that opening up there that I cant see as being all that useable.

I AM GOING TO PUT THE WATER TANK ABOVE THE GAS TANK ON THE DECK UNDER THE CENTER CONSOL ALONG WITH TWO BATTERIES AND THE OIL TANK.

I MOVED THE GAS TANK UP AS FAR AS I COULD GET IT WITH OUT LOOSING THAT COMPARTMENT JUST BEHIND THE CASTING PLATFORM. IN THAT WAY YOU MOVE THE CENTER OF GRAVITY FORWARD AND BETTER BALANCE OUT THE BOAT. I ALSO MOVED THE LIVE WELL FORWARD FROM THE TRANSOM ABOUT 2 FEET AS WELL FOR THE SAME REASON. IT SEAMS THAT MOST OUTBOARD BOATS POROUS MUCH TO MUCH COMPARED WITH INBOARD BOATS (WITH THE SAME DEMENTIONS). SINCE I RE DID THE ENTIRE BOAT THAT WAS A MAJOR OBJECTIVE IN MY OVERALL PLAN. THAT’S WHY THE BATTERIES, WATER TANK AND OIL TANK ARE MOVED FORWARD AS WELL. (SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT)

My advice would be to put the water tank as far forward (under the floor) as possible. NEar the anchor locker if possible. That way it can be used as a "trim" tank and help out on weight distribution. I've never experienced a deep V boat with high HP that rode "Bow down"......

Semi-rigid plastic tanks work great. Remebmer to strap / mount it in securely 25 gallons x 8 lbs is a bit of weight to be flying around in some nasty chop. The bow area is different than the stern for motion....The fill can be anywhere that is about the same height as the vent. You need to be able to see the vent from the fill...

Thanks Tom

That was my other thought/option. I have seen one of those semi rigid tanks (its even shaped like a triangle) that would fit up in the locker under the casting platform ... essentially under the anchor locker .... I would guess my biggest problem would be getting it strapped down.

Thanks Fellow-Ship

That makes sense....I might have room under that deck as long as I dont push the Fuel tank too far forward.
