I want to make my 23 Sceptre sit heaver in the stern; I have the single Yamaha 200 on a jack plate with a 6" set back. I'm wondering if a jack plate with the 10" set back will give the results that I'm wanting. Which brings me to my question of is there a mathematical formula to figure how much weight I'll be transferring to the stern per say 1" of set back?

Why do you want more weight in the stern
I think you'll find most guys here want the opposite to avoid wet toes.

Chris,
Since this vintage of Sceptre sits slightly bow-heavy, it makes any standing water (like rain) flow to the bow at rest. Even though the boat is designed to be self-bailing (scuppers through the transom, no wet feet ), the water runs forward. My father's Sceptre had the same problem until we shifted some things from the cabin to the stern bilge area (as well as place the OB on a jack plate). Weight in the stern of these boats isn't as critical as the CC's because they have the extra weight of a full winsheild and deck up front to change the balance.
