Default MERCURY = YAMAHA

Hi!
LOOKING TO THE SPECIFICATION OF THE MERCURY FOUR STROKE 225 AND THE YAMAHA FOUR STROKE 225,THEY ARE IDENTICAL????? WHO MANUFACTURE THIS OUTBOARDS?

From what I've read, Yamaha builds the block and sells it to Mercury.

Its the same engine just painted a different color. Like Suzuki make the Johnson 4 stroke.

Joe - I read (remember to investigate more [img]/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img]) that it was a Yammi upper on a Merc lower

I just returned from the Miami show where Mercury unveiled their new supercharged 4 stroke. More torque than any 2 stroke and the new Digital shift and throttle system to boot. I believe that the New Merc and the Suzuki 250 4 strokes have now set the bar pretty high. Rich

I have talked to a few Mercury dealers now and they all inform me what i believed. The Mercury is a 100% Yamaha. You may want to read up some more.
