I really love this site and forum. I am picking up a 1978 20' SeaCraft Master Angler tonight. The boat has only had two previous owners - one for 12 years, the 2nd for 14 years. They were both older and it appears they have kept her in great shape. She has a 1990 Johnson 175 GT that has less than 500 hours on it and runs great. The boat is all original with lots of teak. Some needs replaced, some just needs TLC. The hull is in very good condition. I'm going to first try 800 or 1000 paper followed by buffing with Aquabuff. I will post some "as is" pics this weekend and document the clean-up and restoration as I progress.

I took a lot of shots. I will have to figure out the easiest way to post them here. Any suggestions?

OK - If you need a place to upload them to - they need to be on the internet - you can follow these directions to upload them to one of my server sites: http://forum.classicseacraft.com/sho...b=5&o=&fpart=1
Once they are on the web, you can select the properties of the photo and copy the URL, click on the image tag in the Instant UBB Code box when replying, and insert the url between the image and /image tags (each image tag is surrounded by brackets)... Holler if there are any questions - thanks, john

I posted these very early this morning. They came up as thumbnails? Maybe I was asleep. Anyway, the rest are at
http://www.theboatzone.com/gallery/. I'm going to limit the number of pics as we go along so as not to clog the site. I have wet-sanded the handpainted name off with 320 and done about 1/2 the hull with 800. The original color of the gel coat is a creamy off-white and is coming up with a nice gloss. I have a few dings and scratches to repair, then I'm going to use Aquabuff 2000 to finish off the hull. There's a major ding on the cap I will have to repair, prep, and re-gel-coat, then it's on to the interior. |

Thanks Big Shimpin - I really feel fortunate to find one in such good original shape. Except for the canvas and the new motor, there's really been no modifications done since she was new in 78. Oh by the way incase anybody knows - the hull number ends in 77 but it's titled as a 78. Is that common?
