Default trim/tilt rod

I cant seem to knock the ss rod bottom rod out from the bottom of the trim/tilt unit. I have a 1996 175hp evinrude and the top rod knocked out easy. Any advice on how to get the rod out?

Spray it wil PB blaster and beat the $%^# out of it. I have twin 1996 225 evinrudes and just did this two weeks ago. It helps to have a bad day and then go down to the boat and get mid-evil on the bottom pin seriously mid-evil.....
