Default New member, old boat

Ahoy, all

I just bought a 1966 Seacraft 19 bowrider, i/o to bracket conversion. Bought it from a guy in Maryland who bought it from his mom's neighbor in Florida. I poked around the site and it looks like member, tangofniro, either had this before and/or did the restore. I'd love to hear more about the project if the PO is still around. Here she is

Thanks guys.

Hey, Craig. Will, aka Husky Jerk from WWA/TF. Maybe I'll catch you around the CBBT in the fall.

Hi, again. Well, after a spring-full of honey-do's and a nightmarish transition at work, I finally splashed the bowrider last weekend.

She's fast. I found myself holding back, as this boat's power-to-weight is way more than anything I've driven before. Not that that says much, as most of my boats have been underpowered and this smallish hull is on the borderline of overpowered.

She's wet, or I'm not driving it well enough yet. The spray was welcome last Sunday since it was 90+ degrees. But the bulk of my boating is fishing in the fall from Oct-Dec. I better save up my pennies for some vinyl panels to enclose the bimini.

I searched around, but couldn't find anything. With all this E10 business eating glass fuel tanks, I was wondering if the original tank was aluminum? I know the tank could've been replaced, but short of opening up the deck or finding someone on here with credible knowlege about the restore, I can't be sure what material it is. That was another reason to bring up the thread, hoping that maybe someone knows this boat.

Congrats on splashing your boat!!!!
They are awsome riding boats...
I have seen some with splashguards by the waterline on the bow which supposedly keeps them dryer. I have not added that to mine...as it does change the 'lines'. But an option. I think the orig came with SS tanks, and if not changed in 40 years, probably needs to be checked.

I've been working on a list of bowriders, owners & hull numbers. Do you know your hull number? Would love to add you to my list.
Thanks
