Tsunami question...some progress

The disassembly continues. The cap is ready to come off. I just need to build a scaffold to hold it so I can pull the hull out from under it. Also discovered a previous repair to the bow area; probably a tree during Hugo since it's from NC. I didn't realize the upper portion of the hull sides was balsa cored....

For the damaged area, it's about two square feet....I'm going to sand it down and refair it with Awlfair....does that sound reasonable???

Here's the cap ready to come off....there's a hole for a bait tank outlet where I took out a thru hull that's hidden behind the closer 2X4. The close up below it shows the balsa core in the hull....

Damage area on the bow...pressure washing caused the chipping. Crazing is evident in about a two square foot area....this I'll need to fix again. I also found a patched area under the carpet liner in the cabin. The cap was glassed to the hull top; I had to cut around it above the glassed part. More to fix.....it's a long winter though.
