Default 20 cc / Suzi 140

I have noticed that a few of the project boats on here are powered by suzuki 140's. Can someone give me an idea of what type of speed and fuel consumption to expect with this package?

Thanks,
Sam

I run a 1973 20'er with a zuke 140 4s and max out around 39, I have seen 42 once running with the wind and current.

Not a speed demon but darn good on gas....

I have a 1971 20CC with 2003 Suzy 140 4-stroke.

at 30mph and about 35 gallons in the tank I get 5 miles per gallon.

at 6,000rpm with 35 gallons in the tank, I top out right at 40mph (with t-top)

a full day of offshore fishing for me requires 12 gallons of fuel....and I do it five days a week in the Summer

Thank you sir, I have cruised through this site before and actually found my boat off the for sale section. I have had the boat for about 6 months now and love it.

I will be draggin her from St Augustine (home) to the keys for 2.5 weeks in exactly 6.5 days... Not that i'm counting...

Thanks for the heads up and pointing me to this site so i can peruse the boat porn while I should be working.

SOS (Dave)
