boat cover

I am buying a 20' SeaCraft w T top. I will need to cover the boat.An obvious solution is to cover with a large tarp. Has anyone had success taking a ready made boat cover and cutting it to fit around the T top? Would love to get info on how you did this and how you covered the T top as well.
