The trailer under the 18sf I just bought failed two hours into a 12 hour drive and I need to get a new one. Question is what capacity? Most have recommended a 3100lb capacity. It will be a Loadrite roller.

I would reconsider to an Alum float on/drive on - so sweet to load and unload

You might want to just fix the problem with the trailer . . . Unless the frame is rotten . . . it's a whole lot cheaper to fix what you have now. |

I have an 18' and a Magic Tilt aluminum trailer. My axle is rated for about 3000 pounds. I just got the boat a few months ago and the axle is too small for the load. I am going to get a 5000 pound axle. It is currently eating the inside of the tires pretty good.

I would recommend a Float on/Drive on trailer. I also have a 18SF and have a dual axle Float on trailer. I made a 8 hour drive with now complications. I also checked everything on the trailer before hand ( tires, bearings, lights, etc.) and did not take the trailer over 70 mph.
