Default Hermco Bracket

What is the approximate weight of a Hermco engine bracket used on the 23 Seacraft?

not sure but Don is super freindly guy, spoke with him on the phone and hes very easy to talk to. Give him a call. I do know his brackets float so im not sure what it matters how much it weights. being its made of fiberglass i would guess its much lighter than his competitors.

I think shipping weight (XL pallet, etc.) was about 260lbs. Me and a buddy picked it up to move it off the pallet and I'm a guessin'........ ~ 200

Thanks REELESCAPE. The Armstrong weighs about 230lbs, which kind of suprised me as being awfully heavy but if Hermco is right at 200 - 230 then I suppose this is the standard.

I'm thinking of building one for a 23 Seacraft that I just purchased and should be able to keep it right at 200 lbs w/o too much problem. Fortunately I have an Armstrong to "copy" and a pretty detailed background in FRP work.

I'm VERY,VERY,satisfied with him and his bracket; the quality, pricing, willingness to help about boat stuff, and service after a sale. The shipping co. dinged mine a bit and Don sent me the materials to fix it....at his expense! Before I bought the boat he spent a long time on several phone conversations steering me straight. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him.

I've seen Strick's (Very Nice work) but haven't seen BigShrinp's. I will look for it now.

I'm having a 1980 23 Seacraft Superfisherman delivered on Monday. Already has a new coosa-transom installed by a professional builder and a new transom cap installed by the same. The PO had intended upon finishing the boat last winter but a new baby changed his plans. At a young 30-something he had other plans for this free time outside of building a boat. Fortunately he vacations and fishes a great deal here on the Gulf-side of Florida so I promised to take him fishing whenever he comes to FL and he gave me no reason to not get the boat from him.

I'll post some pictures when the boat gets here.

Paul - I think you are referring to the 32 Holland that I was (am) hoping to purchase from an older fellow down here in FL? If so ..... no the boat is still "there" but the older man has fallen gavely ill and I am now dealing with the daughter exclusively. I spoke to the daughter about 2-3 months ago and she indicated taht she still wanted to sell the boat but was too involved with his daily care and didn't have time or interest in looking for the title. She did say that she had no intention of selling to anyone else and still had my # and that when the time was "right" she would contact me.

In light of all of the above, and my need to "tinker" with a boat, I purchased a 23 Seacraft.

Yeah I couldn't remember what it was, but yes it was the Holland. I followed your build of the Duffy on NE. Thats too bad about the old man, hopefully he pulls through. I'm sure he'd love to see pics of the boat after your through with it!! I've been searching for a DE for a while now, I started out looking for something in the 32-38 range, but have since scaled back to looking for small CC. Good luck with the Holland and the Seacraft. Post some pic's once you get goin, I'll be watchin!
