I need to replace the transom, because its bowing and flexes whenever I lift the foot of the motor. I have though about closing in the transom, it knotched currently, and adding a live well and fish box. I thought about the new synthetic nidacore decking, and adding an engine bracket.
a. has anyone ever done this? b. What level of expertise is needed to pull it off? c. Is there a better way? |

There are various ways of doing that...first of all check out 65bowriders solution. http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ght=65bowrider
Then do yourself a favor and check out the top thread on repairs, "here we go again" The 19 is a rare bird so you will be in uncharted waters on some of the things you want to do, but the techniques on how to do them can all be found if you search through the repair threads. Where are you located, I think I saw something that you might be sorta in my area?

We are rooted in Ocala,Fl. However, any given weekend durring the summer we can be found in the Gulf from the Pine Island, Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Cost, Boca Grande, Little Gasparilla area to the Crystal River, Yankeetown, Inglis, Cedar Key areas. We just got back from a week or so in Bokeelia and a weekend in Crystal River. Where are you, from one of your quotes I read, it sounds like the Boca Grande area.
Thank you very much for your guidance. She is a indeed a rare find, and I would like to bring her back to her former glory. B |
