Great pic, martin. Thanks! Did you work for American Seafood? That boat is American Triumph now, I think. I worked on gill-net fishing boats 1/4 that size and although I'm fond of the memories of that snot and worse, some of those days were a wee bit short of fun. Five days of gales in cold water fisheries is closer to hell on earth. Sure had a great time kissing the ground and some pretty girls upon each return. That WAS FUN! I still don't get why chicks dig you when you're gone a while in precarious settings... gotta get get back to piracy and the like...

My what a small world .. Yes worked for American Seafoods for 8 years 92-2000.. I loved that ship.. I worked on the Empress. Then dynasty then triumph then back to Empress. Then left from the Ocean Rover.. My family still fish for Am seafoods.. Some 30 years now they are starting the A- season as we speak... Those were the best of times of my life turned 21 up there.. Oh yea!!!
Where were you gill netting... For salmon? Or were you a catcher boat for the processors?

8 years, that's quite a run. I worked Washington to SoCal for swordfish and threshers on private boats. 38' glass to 60 ft steel hulls. I believe WA and OR have now banned the fishery. CA still allows it but I'm guessing it won't be long before they ban the drift gill nets here.
