Distance from transom to rear of console (master angler)

I have a 76 master angler and forgot to measure the distance from the transom to the back of the console before I stripped it down. I want to know what it was originally and what y'all normally move it to when putting a bracket on the back. I was thinking of putting it about 6'7" from the transom but I wanted to know what the general consensus is doing.
