I am not sure in what year that the fuel cells were installed under the deck, but this is the normal set up for a 1972 SeaCraft sf. I have owned a 1972 super fisherman for just under two years now and my plans are to move tank under deck and raise the transom, when the time comes. Congratulations on your purchase ... You will love this boat!

My 1969 has the same set up. Not sure I would go to the trouble of moving it.

Thanks for the replies, how many gallons are these tanks ? they dont look very big
I also plan to install a under deck tank and raise the floor 2-4'' for self bailing but i want to fish her for the summer then rip her apart in the winter , that is pending on if the transom holds up for the summer, i have some small to medium cracks around stern area. Shes got an old 1988 200hp yamaha on her.

my 1970 had a 40 gal tank under the console / seat...same setup as yours...I replaced mine with a stainless tank of the same size and kept it under the console ..no problems. had the boat for 29 years...sold 2 years ago

On my ‘72 20SF, I have a black poly tank above the floor under the console. Fuel fill is on top of the console with vent on the side. My rough measurements of the tank lead me to believe it is just shy of 30gals. I have a closed transom with a bracket and my plans are to eventually planning to redo floors and put a new tank under the floor as far forward as I can get it.

Ya I’m definitely going to close off the transom as well , I’m just not thrilled about spending the coin on a bracket ,hopefully I can find a used one .its defiantly nice living in s Florida , lots of good used parts for sale here.
