buying a Seacraft

Im thinking of purchasing a 75 21ft, hull recently rebuilt, closed transom with bracket. I saw it today and the edges(corners) of the bracket where the bracket meets the transom were cracked but the middle of the bracket was fine and bolts were in place felt sturdy upon putting my weight of 200lbs. Is this something i should worry about or just minor?

Hire a professional boat surveyor!!!
Unless you are VERY handy at fiberglass repairs it is better to know going in what you are up against.

Stress cracks mean something was not designed to handle the load. Is the bracket aluminum or stainless?
Who was the manufacturer? How big is the motor?
Post pictures and all the details. Ken

Thank You for all your replies. It is greatly appreciated. I wish I had photos to show u guys. I think the best option is to get the boat surveyed as advised. If i purchase the boat ill show some pics. Any recomendations on a surveyor in miami?

There was a single stainless bracket that was made here
in Florida in the middle 80's
Custom Fabrication was the name of the company.
I do not know if they are still in business.
I will try to find out if they are.
A friend of mine has one on his 21 Hydra Sport.

Stainless marine in FL makes a bunch of iferent types....Pricey

Stainless Marine's are aluminum, I have never seen a stainless bracket but do not doubt they exist.
