Default VariATions

I've been looking at the many differant models of SeaCrafts & have noticed that there are many, many variations on several models. For instance It was once thought that forward lower Strakes were only on 18'& 23's SF's & the cabin models only & now find out that they are also on 20' Master anglers (some)? Also the sterns of a lot of the sefari's are diff. Most seem to think this is from the factory,Could these be from previous custom /personal modifications?(As some of these boats could have had many owners & may have spent time in shops.) Did Potter or other later SC manuf.s (SIC,CSY etc.)make changes at customers request or just changed it as ideas came up? Seems like WE or some do light to some "wild" modifications to em' & later in the Years(30+ or more) the "New" Owners would be asking the same ? as to why theirs is diff.??? Just seems like there are so many variations to a single line of boats being factory?
I now have an eXcuse for not being able to Sleep THIS week !
