Default Mercruiser MPI ?

I am thinking of putting one in the 21.

The question I have is do these MPI need a fuel pump in the gas tank, like some 4 stroke outboards or do they have a electric fuel pump some place on the engine.

Anybody out there running one of these?

My Mercury 350MAG MPI Horizon has what is called a "Cool Fuel" module....it's an aluminum housing the fuel line goes into that has a filter and the fuel pump inside. There's a T in the raw water line between the seawater pump and the heat exchanger and seawater is pumped through the module to "cool" the fuel (and maybe the pump too). Before I put the MP engine in I had a carbed engine and it just had a standalone electric fuel pump. So all you should need is the spply line from the tank pickup.......
