I sold the stop gap fresh water TnT unit to do it the way I wanted with mine.
I can`t get the suckah to bleed. I get a slight pitch change one way on the bench and a mechanical warble the other. Any pros out there? I am close to tasting it. Mmmm food. The unit is made by Showa, but I can`t get an open line to Japan. Rude fastrak on a 150. |

Sandman,
Certainly not a pro... well maybe a procrastinator, but... Don't have your answer but sounds similar to what I experienced. Did you try using a helper to hold the down the up button while filling? My pump is different (merc hydraulic) but they do take a while to cycle though;once it sucks through and tops off, cap it and good to go I would think. I also had a tab pin coupler that fell out of place between motor and pump, and while the motor was spinning, it wasn't actually engaging the pump. Just a couple of thoughts... Good luck.

Sandy,
I believe those things are basically self bleeding once you get enough fluid in them. Pitch/rpm of motor will definitely change when it starts sucking air, so I'd think you start out by trimming up, and then when pitch changes, stop and add more fluid. Once the rams are fully extended and fluid level is right up to fill port, you should be good to go. I think the air will get bled out when you trim down and the rams are fully retracted. Denny

I took the motor off last weekend thinking I may have missed the spade but nope. Used a screwdriver and ran the pump drive back and forth whilst full of oil and she was moving it. Unit is full of oil and I and many others are stumped. You all now I call all I can think of for advive. All are stumped. BRP,Arco,Seahorse.
It is indeed self bleeding, which is why I am so confounded. Thanks folks, GFS |
