I've bought Manifolds and risers for my 350 Mercruiser from a couple places,One was E basic power http://bpi.ebasicpower.com/c/MER9A/M...for+Mercruiser They were good to deal with..

Lighthouse marine http://www.partman.com/catalogsearch...haust+manifold
out of Long Island NY has a good inventory, and also ship good with very good service.I bought a lot of stuff from them over the years and never had any problems. They hooked me up with a sweet remote oil filter system when I did my restore.

Wholesale Marine is another place some friends have used and liked.http://www.wholesalemarine.com/c/110...Manifolds.html

I've used both Osco and Barr manifolds on my last two boats and both were good.I'm not sure of the GLM brand offered by Wholesale marine. I have Barr manifolds on my 23 Tsunami now and no problems(4 years freshwater only).

I will say that the guys at E Basic Power, and the guys at Lighthouse Marine(aka, Part man) were great to deal with and they shipped quick.I think the service was a little more personal with Lighthouse, but both are excellent(at least my experience was good)

ordering from the internet is nice,but....

what's wrong with doing buisness with a local company ? seriously, local company can get the parts just as quickly,if not have them in stock

me,i purchase from local companies for everything, they're part of my community, and they deserve my buisness...

Agree...however when they are not price competitive (and I am not talking a few bucks) and the part is a no brainier then the internet is great.

the cost of operating a biz, continues to rise - quite a few internet part sellers, these people have limited overhead - some just place the order and it's drop shipped from the factory - they have no physical building, employees, libility insurance, etc - get where i'm going with this ?

the local place,it's a building,employees - employees that need health ins,salaries,etc - a building,which requires utilities,property taxes,and capital to maintain a "Stock" of inventory...

one day, you're gonna need to go to that local place, for a part you need right now - you'll find out that place closed - then what ???

price alone will not provide a true comparison of value...

Believe me,I'm a big supporter of the local businesses in my area, and I owned and operated a hardware store in my hometown for many years.I have thousands of dollars worth of tackle and gear, most of which was purchased from small independent stores.

Having said that,I find that for some items, depending on the area you live in,internet sites make the most sense, especially when the expense is an issue.
Hell, if I had unlimited funds,I'd have all my work done by someone other than myself
.
Unfortunately when the difference is hundreds of dollars,I'm put in a position when cost is a big factor.
People like Lighthouse marine are family owned companies so I feel good giving them business. One thing I never ever do,is to shop at a big box marine stores.I will always give my business first to local guys and Independent stores.

Default Lighthouse

They may not be local to Va but Lighthouse is a great local family-run business here on the island. I have been dealing with them for years and they put together great service and prices. In fact, the few shops I know around here don't keep much stock because they just wind up calling the boys at lighthouse.
If you call ask for Pat. He is a great guy and very knowledgable re: our engines.
