Fishing in Florida
To all the Florida contingent. My family and I are going to be in the Orlando area for the next two weeks. Staying at the in-laws. Could you recommend a good guide on the east or west coast. I am willing to drive. My two boys and I are looking to get in some fishing and get away from the in-laws for a while. Any help would be appreciated.
Wish I had the money to support the four boat theory!!!! |

Re: Fishing in Florida
Really depends on what type of fishing you would like to do. If offshore is your thing, you definately want to fish the east coast. Port Canaveral has been producing good amounts of a variety of fish. Kingfish, Cobia, Dolphin(mahi), Sailfish, and wahoo, just to name a few. I would recommend a good friend of mine, Capt. Scott Goodwin. His website is FISHTRAP.COM. He is by far one of , if not the best captains at the port. Gauranteed to catch fish and great with the kids. If inshore is your thing than maybe the west coast would be better. There are more Tarpon and Snook over there, although the east side produces mass amounts of Redfish in the Mosquito Lagoon. Hopefully this helps a bit with your plans. If you decide to book with Scott tell him Brian Meyer sent ya. Good Luck and Catch em up!!

Re: Fishing in Florida
ABSOLUTELY!!!! On the West Coast for Reds etc. There is a very good guide named Anibel Roman, fishes a ActionCraft boat on the Flats. Capt Roman's numbers are 813-679-6396 and 813-654-7677 If larger prey is on your mind, Contact Capt Sergio Atanes. He heads up a group of Captains that will take care of your offshore grouper needs. His number is 813-973-7132 On the East Coast, I really do not know anyone personally but down on the Strip there is a small marina with very resonable Charters on larger boats. Last time I checked it was about 65.00 a head for 6 people. or you can have the boat to yourself for a flat fee. Tell Them Ted Safarian sent you and to take care of you. Good Luck..If its a weekend and need someone to share expense let me know.
