Adventures in Canvas
Would you be pissed or what!?!?!
------------------------------------ Posted by a member of Tidalfish.com: Well, I decided to bite the bullet and get a custom-made stamoid storage cover for the boat this year. After comparing the cost of a cover to that of shrink-wrapping for about 6 years (hopefully that's at least the life of this cover), I decided to pull the trigger. Plus it would be nice to keep the dirt, leaves, and other gunk out of the boat – and hopefully lengthen the life of boat. After consulting with some other TF members and getting various recommendations, I decided on Sandpiper Marine in Deale to the do job. I had good recommendations, and their estimates were about in line with others I'd gotten plus their location was close for me. The result, a fine looking and fitting cover: That was the good, now here's the bad. I'd specifically asked for a cover with tie downs to be used instead of snaps installed below the rub rail as they suggested. I had a whole list of reasons why I was not keen on +/- 100 holes in the side of my hull for snaps. So when I picked up the boat, guess how it was held down??? Needless to say I was beyond furious. They just decided to do it anyway with snaps because " we thought it would be better this way" . To make a long story short regarding the dispute; I told them I wanted the snaps out and the hull repaired, they agreed and said pay us the difference after the repairs. So all I'm out is a bunch of headache and hassle. Still, very annoying to say the least. ------------------------------------ That really sucks!!!

Re: Adventures in Canvas
I wish I was fortunate enough to be the owner of the SeaCraft, but I'm not. I just copied the thread from Tidalfish. What as shame this is as that is one beautiful boat.
If it were mine, I would already have the screw holes filled w/ body parts of the guy who chose to ignore what I said!!!! Don, I'm not worried. You ought to move down here. You could raise your prices by %50 and still snatch all the business from the locals.
