Default Start of the 21 Production?

Anyone know what year SC started building the 21 model (well 20'5") versus the 20 (19'5") ...

thanks

I have been watching boattrader for a few months because I may decide on getting a used 21 in the near future. The oldest one I have seen anywhere for sale has been a 1998. A few times I have seen 21's for sale from the 70's but these looked to be the 20 from that period. My family or I have had seacrafts since 1977 and as for as I know there was never a 21 offered until the late 90's. The 21 seems like a nice layout and much larger than the 20.

Seafari - if you have the true length, beam, deadrise, and weight - that would be cool.

kajroxygurl - I have occasionally seen references to older 21 footers, granted, a lot of people are calling their 20s (which are really only nineteen and change) 21 footers...

I want the 23 but I may need to wait my time so a 21 is an option now too

Thanks,

John

I was in Outdoor World (Dania Fl.) looking at the new SeaCrafts and noticed that the new 21' looks more like my 1971 20' (than the new 20'). Both the new 21 and my 20 have a raised deck in the bow - the 21 has a double door fishbox while mine has a single door fishbox and a small dry storage box just forward of the fishbox. The new 20 looks totally different from my older boat - seems smaller.

Anybody with the older hulls notice this?

I had a 1969 20 seacraft and the layout sounds just like yours Bacdoc. The new 20 has the exact same hull as the old but the storage is not as good because of the reason you stated. That is why I like the new 21 because it has the full 8' beam and more storage than the 20. There is quite a bit of difference between the size of each.
