It's a '71 20 classic and it has a 90hp two stroke on it. The seller says it runs at 35 with a full load but i find that hard to believe. Anyone an expert on this cause i'm sure not. I just like the boats

Is this the one in Marion MA? with a 90 Tuhotsu(sp??). If so my feeling is not only is it underpowered but it is overpriced. He pulled some game in the begining of the season where he asked a lower price for the boat until memorial day then raised the price over a grand.
There are better deals out there,, unless he lowered the price under 5K. |

35 mph with a 90 is questionable. My experience with the 20' is that a 115 would be the smallest motor to put on that hull. 130 - 150 is a good choice for the 20 - so if you can get it for a good price trade/sell the 90 and repower.

Good advice in the above posts. I also would be skeptical about the top end. My 20' is powered with a 150 EFI Yamaha and runs 43 mph with three adults and a full fishing load. The top end is just under 50 with a light load (1 adult) and 30lbs of fuel.
Additionally, The variable deadrise SeaCraft hull runs and rides better on top of the water, especially in a moderate chop, consequently you need enough motor to lift the hull out of the water and minimize the wetted surface. Good luck with your search! |

If there are better deals out there, then i don't know where. I'm not looking for a boat to fix up; it needs to be in good shape, and i haven't had any luck finding any seacraft in working order for less than 6k. And, yes, it is the one in marion.

Wait then. That boat is not worth it IMO.
