Default Paint ques.

I want to paint my 1970 20 cc. hull down to waterline. It is now yellow. I would like to roll & brush , I dont want to get involved in spray, ANYONE know of a light yellow paint for this type of job,the orig. yellow is a bit dark like the Seatow boats . I want the newer look light yellow .any imput on color or rolling on paint would be helpfull, Also do I need a primer coat . THANKS & HAPPY NEW YEAR Joe R.

Hey Joe, I think the yellow you are looking for is fighting lady yellow. If you look at Hammers 20 you will see what fighting lady yellow looks like. I am no expert on paint but i would also like to see any info on painting

There seems to be 2 yellows - fighting lady yellow (one of my favorites) and the lighter yellow on Seacrafts and there was a mustard yellow color - like you said more like Seatow's...





And a little photoshop touchup with FLY as the possible future color on my 23

I'd be interested to know how many members of this site have a boat whose original color was the SeaCraft "mustard"?! My 1971 20' started it's life that way (now painted over with white).

It certainly was a "look"...

My 73 was mustard then repainted white a few years ago

I originally didn't like that color, but it seem to have grown on me, I think I'm going to keep it that way.

FYI. Mr, P's wife picked out that color apparently.
