Hello I recently tried to sell my 1976 23' with one good 115 yamaha 1986 motor and one that has piston not firing, I was curious and have a price to add two 140 Suzuki four strokes brand new for around $12,000 do you think in the future I will be able to ask $25,000 for my boat and get it. I love my boat I just don't know if anyone else would like it at $25,000.

Great looking boat.. I think that Band-Aid on the stern is what sunk you. With new motors and stern you may come close. You will most likely have to redo the stern and raise it or close it up because of the weight of the 4-strokes. But anyone that knows Sea Crafts knows whats under the Band-Aid.

Mike- Go for it! It's only money . Owning the legend is priceless. When a potential buyer looks at your boat they will have a surveyor and verify its condition, and pay you what it's worth. The transom plate does indicate a deferred rebuild. $12,000 for 2 140 strokers is a steal, Briguy had a quote of 17.5K from his Sarasota source. But, as you know, the 4 boat theory will prevail. Keep it and build a collection.

My two cents is that you should keep your boat and go for the repower with the S 140's at that price and fix the transom. If you invest that money you'll have a great boat, and one that you won't be able to replicate or find for that same amount of money.

FIX IT, KEEP IT, AND NEVER EVER SELL IT. BECAUSE IF YOU SELL IT YOU WILL ALWAYS LOOK BACK AND SAY “I SHOULD HAVE NEVER SOLD THAT BOAT”
