Saw this over the weekend

I looked at the boat and it looks like a 2000 or so hull....the Boat is awesome and the craftsmanship is flawless ... does not look a year old no less 27 years old....I may have to suffer and take a closer look now [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

hehehe --- guess that's the one. I think I have a visual picture of every Seacraft photo add on the net - at least the volume sites [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] . When you look at the other pics on that link, you can see a lot was done, including a current center console, looks OK but too small, personally I like the bigger consoles, contemporary or not.
The pics do look very sweet but the people completing these majors restorations, are they actually selling? I look at Trayder's pics and he is doing an incredibly detailed restore but he is doing it for himself and not to sell... Is there really that kind of market in 25K+ restored 20' Seacraft boats?

Let me ask everyone a question. I know there'a a lot of factors involved but what is a fair asking price for a nice, well-restored mid 70's 20' Classic? Certainly the mid-20K range is out of the question.
I'm debating whether to buy a low dollar fixer-upper or paying the $$$ for one that has already had the work done on it. Is the mid-teens a fair asking price for a refurbished boat? [ October 29, 2002, 05:47 PM: Message edited by: swstandring ]

Sit down with a calculator and add up the cost of the items that are potentially in need of replacing on an early to mid-70's SeaCraft and you'll have your answer:
new transom new fuel tank new engine new steering new electronics new deck hardware new ground tackle new rub rail new or redone console new leaning post (if you want one at all) new trailer possibly new stringers and floor you get the idea. (Yes, I'm doing all of the above!)
