I see , or atleast it looks like, you just have the ring rod holders with the rotating nylon rings under the gunwales....by using them and removing (I assume you had the teak racks before) did the gunwales soften up on you?? see my post in repairs/mods ie. gunwales Scott |

Scott - I'm not getting any flex in the gunnels there, at least that I noticed last year.With the right angle of it, I would think flex would be diminished due to the 4" - 5" of that inboard vertical flat surface.My teak rod holders were pretty shot, those are some holders made here in Ct. by a company named Solo, I met Bob the owner and he got me a few to try.They have a soft foam inside with a v - cut and you squeeze and lift to open, they are good because they grip the rod so there is no rattling.
