Default Monomoy Sinking

Heard today about a 23 that sunk on the tip of Monomoy yesterday... I hope it isn't anyone on this site! Steve, Squiddy, are you guys OK? I got towed back from Nantucket today, really enjoyed that. New outboard is on order thank you very much.

If anyone is interested in a 1997 225 hp Mariner with a thrown rod, you know, for rebuild or to make a nice mooring anchor with, let me know!

Ouch....... Sorry about your disaster at sea. Main thing is that everyone aboard is ok. Outboards can be replaced........costly......but can be replaced.

Roland-

I case I misled you or anyone else, I did not sink fortunately. I blew up an outboard, which hurts, but you're right, they can be replaced.

I posted the info on the sinking b/c here on Cape Cod, as it is in many areas, bad news travels fast! I was hoping nobody from this site lost their boat this week.

Sorry to mislead you Roland!

Hooper,
Like you, I too was towed back yesterday, but I was off Scituate. We hit something on our way out to Cape Cod Bay looking for school bluefin. We think it might have been either an ocean sunfish or a whale because of the way the engine reacted when we struck the object - no loud thunk and no violent kick-up of the engine, just a very soft and slow bump. We'll know this week if we're in the market for a new engine also, it wouldn't shift into forward or reverse. Since the engine is an '89 with about 800 hours, we have to decide if it's worth fixing or buying new.

Jeez, talk about bad breaks! That hurts. I hope it is a cheap fix for you. But what better excuse to repower now

Hope everyone is OK. I was over Steve's Friday night so he should be OK as he only boats during the day...

We'll need to wait until Squddy posts...
