Default FellowShip fishing report

This is a picture of a small Swordfish we caught the other night we let this one go. Also had another swim by the boat approx 100 lbs that wouldn’t take a bait. Plus we hooked something very big, fought it for 4 ½ hrs. and then broke him off must have been a big shark in the 600 to 800 lbs class it dragged us 36 miles from port we never saw him just the glow light. This monster beet up me plus my two mates. I hope I never come across his path again.

I am planning on going out to night. The summer swordfish bite has been real good. I havent been able to go the past 3 weeks because I have been up in tallahassee and too busy with the boat and work, but a few of my friends have been going and they have had a few multiple fish nights.
Fellowship, what area have you been fishing? Are you just running as far south as possible and then drifting up?

Ha Chuck
Ya I use my boat works great we fished 5 lines and don’t have any problems keeping them straight. On the small one you saw we through him back was a little short but I did have a smoked sword fish stake salad yesterday and it was great. I will be going out Sat. night this Sword fishing has really turned me on for the middle of the summer type fishing trips we splash the boat by 5 and beat the heat of the day.

Ha George
I have been trailing the boat to Crandon park in Miami going to the Sea buoy chumming for Blue runners we can catch 12-20 of them in 30 minuets there then we go straight out off Miami to the 49 line last Sat night we were drifting at 4 mph by about dusk we are in the zone. Sat night we ended up past pompano beach and had to run all the way back to Miami 36 miles (long ride we put 65 miles on the boat that night.) we usually fish both live bait and big squids.

I hope you have better luck tonight then I did last night. It was pretty choppy and we went 0 for 3. Oh well it was nice to just get out.

Ha George
We got another fish Saturday night we went 1 for 1 at approx 12:00 off Hollywood it measured 52” and approx 65-70 lbs. Boy there is nothing like Fresh Swordfish Stakes. I will Post some pictures later. This Sword fishing has turned out to be just perfect for fishing trips during the summer. We picked up live bait off Government cut ran to the 49 line set up the rods and drift one long drift to Fort Lauderdale. We go over the top on most of the Hollywood numbers as we do our drift put 54 miles on the boat Saturday night.
