Default Boo . . . Scary Console

After pulling out all the junk inside, carving it up and patching the holes I thought I'd take a few shots of the Jacko-Lantern console.

It's hard to see in the pics, but I patched all the areas already. Each "glow in the dark" spot is actually 4 layers of 1708 and epoxy. The light just shines through.

Everything will be faired and primed tomorrow.

BTW - Warthog your paint job on the xshark looks flawless. Nice job.

Thanks, Nothing's perfect, but I try. HeHe
So now you have a clean slate to start with. Good deal.
Are you going to move the helm to the port side like Strick did?

It took me 2 months to get to the point were I could fair and primer the consel. You must be working 24 hour shifts on that boat of yours
Thats looking really great. It does look like a 23 consel but narrower like you told me. I'll bet you are happy to be working in the garage during all this heat
I'm bolting on all the hardware. I finished the non-skid and Wednesday the consel and hard top go to Modesto for the tower. Let me know when you are ready for that pay back

Warthog - I like the throttle on the right side of the wheel and away from the egde of the console . . . so the the plan to move the helm to the left and the controls to the center. The previous owner had the wheel in the center and the controls on the left side. Might look a bit strange, but I think it's going to be a better setup.

Strick!! I can't believe you're almost done. How did the non-skid come out? Looks like you'll make your sept deadline after all.

This boat continues to baffle me. Not only do I believe that the hull and deck are from different boats, but the console is definitely from a 23. When I removed the rug interior and cleared away the glue, a seem appeared that ran right down the center of the console. Someone at one point sawed the console in half, trimmed away about 10" (of the width), and glassed it back together. Same story with the door . . cut right down the middle and glassed together.

The garage is great . . . . I'll don't know how I could have lived this long without one. Anyway I'll give you a call this week.

I agree. I like the way your doing it. Did Strick tell you about my idea of making tilted bezeles out of Mahagony. Like the Gaffrig bezeles are in alum, for around the guages.
It's something you can do with a drillpress, holesaw and a router. It wouldn't cost much and really make the guages stand out.
