Re: 23 SeaCraft CC in NJ
Abe,
Ed Mancini has the same motor and seems to like it a lot. I've been on his boat (23' Mako) a couple times, and it runs great and has no problem pushing the boat. Last summer, Ed did a marathon trip of running down to my house in Hull from Newburyport by water (50 miles), then the following morning we went down into Cape Cod Bay (35-40 miles), and reversed the route later that day. If I remember correctly, he burned 70 gallons while travelling 140 miles, netting 2mpg. Not bad for a no frills 2 stroke. The whole time, the engine never sputtered or hiccupped, nothing. Seems to be a great motor. A buddy of mine had a '00 200 and raved about it too. |

Re: 23 SeaCraft CC in NJ
I have an 03' of the same engine.I was somewhat reluctant to buy it,but I got it for 5 grand and figured I'd run it till she blew up,but it has really been great. It's on a 25'x 10'center console and I fish her almost daily. It sips fuel and oil for a 225 2 stroke, starts on the first try,and so far hasn't missed a beat. One draw back is she takes 12 spark plugs every 100 hrs.

Re: 23 SeaCraft CC in NJ
Scott-
Thanks for the feeback. I know nothing about those motors, I see so few of them on boats where ever I go. Grew up an OMC guy and now a fan of the Yamahas. This boat looks pretty nice from the pics. Abe's Rocket.
