Default Difference between Sceptre & Tsunami

I know this has been posted here before, but I was unable to find the thread and gave up after about an hour of searching.

Can someone tell me was the difference between the Sceptre and the Tsunami is? Is one any more desireable that the other?

Just curious...

Thanks.

Same boat, Just the names had to be changed from Tsunami to Sceptre because of another boat company already having the Tsunami name I think?

Brian if you are thinking of getting one I know of a gentleman just north of you who will be putting his Tsunami on the market soon. It's a IO and the engine is new.. boat is in excellent condition. Asking around 12K for it.

Keep me informed please. I'm not sure the wife would go for it, but it's worth a shot.

I have a 79 Sceptre. Some one has all the specs for most of the years. I forget who it is but I remember getting the specs on my 79 from him. Scotty.

An oldie but a goody. I think somewhere it got clarified that 73/74ish was the change over.

I have my original owners manual for my April 1979 Seafari 20 that shows all the models. They were Sceptre 20, SF20, Seafari 20, SF23, Tsunami 23, Seafari 25 and SF18. This manual says there was a Sceptre 20 and Tsunami 23 existing at the same time in 1979. Regards, Jim

You may have it in a manual, but I don't think you'll see a live tsunami after '74.
