Sceptre or Tsunami cabin ladder
Looking for anyone out there that has the original ladder that goes up to the foredeck on the 23 cuddy. A picture would be great! Would like to buy or fabricate one over the next 6 months.

Chuck, Thanks for the picture. I found an original ladder through another member. I can't buy it, but he sent an email saying he could lend it to me to duplicate.
Alan, If and when I get this and look at it, I will let you know. From time to time, I have access to some CNC stuff, and I might be able to knock out a couple depending on the design. Here is a picture that the owner sent. Thanks again, Jim

OK Here's the story. I re-did my boat a year ago. Wanted that ladder to complete the resto. Miraculously, I was able to find it - brand new ! for $50 ! Literally - a miracle. It was great ! Made to fold up nice, lightweight- perfect. Unfortunately, the ladder I have, although new, had a manufacturing blem ( I'll explain in a bit ) The ladder is made of a lightweight, no-flex, strong plastic - but the plastic is 'soft' - weird to explain. It's...well, fibrous. The way it folds: There are small wrungs for each step males and females - and a plastic pin goes thru these mated wrungs like a hinge. Each step has (4) prs of wrungs - (2) for each side of each step. When the ladder is locked into place, the ladder stays in form - perfect. When you take it from it's place, the sides will easily fold parallel to each other for a more compact stow. One side will be longer than the other. My ladder, had an air-pocket from the mold I assume, located in the plastic on one of the wrungs. It cracked from very little usage, and now the 'hinge' holds no weight and the step will not function safely or properly. I am trying desperately to figure out a repair; either a plastic welder or a retrofit for the one wrung. I tried West epoxy, but the plastic is not porous and there was no bond. And, it is in a very heavy load area ! The ladder is made for the boat and it makes getting to the deck easy and the stow-ability factor is perfect. I can take all the specs and pix you might want ! Give me explicit directions as to how to post pix here and I will. Alan

Hi Jim,
don't know if mine was origional or not because I got rid of it but mine was a Garelick brand with two steps. At the windsheild was a hinged teak board that dropped down and had stainless slots in it for the ladder to slide into. You could remove the ladder and side it into duplicate slots on either side of the cockpit coaming to use it for boarding. By the way I sold the 20 Sceptre, its in Conn. now completely rigged with a new 140 Suzi. Came out really nice.
