Just thought I would throw this out there to see what everyone else considers must haves while underway. I thought maybe this would be a good information source for people to share their inovative ideas, or best practices. So far I have ready a good tool kit with adjustables, tape measure, various wrenches, duct tape, electrical tape, pliers, spark plugs, nail clippers, various sockets, fuses, various nuts, bolts, washers, spare belts, flash light. I was wondering what you guys have for damage control gear. Or other things people would not leave home with out.

Put plastic bag in hole insert spray foam tube into plastic bag depress trigger on spray foam can if all goes well spray foam will fill bag and hole then turn on bilge pump wait for water to leave boat or not and drive to nearest boat ramp and hope your truck and trailer are there. This will work on holes above and some spray foam will even expand enough under water if you can keep it in the desired location ie the plastic bag. I have used the two part expanding foam to float many boats successfully that had very large holes.
![]() If you look closely you can see the tarp covering the hole in the front of this boat that was large enough to drive a small car through behind the tarp is 30 gallons of two part expanding foam we towed this boat 35 miles to the lift and kept it afloat with only one 2 inch pump. |
