Default 2001 model 23'

I am looking at a 2001 year model 23' with 225 optimax,
I was told by a boat salesman at the Miami show that after 2000 the quality of Sea Craft went in the toilet.
I currently have a 1998 21' Sea Craft and want to up-grade
can anyone comment on quality issue

This is a "Classic SeaCraft" site. Issues with vintage SeaCraft boats from the 1960's to the early 1980's are discussed. This forum does not convey quality standards with regards to new SeaCrafts boats. I suggest you contact the SeaCraft company or other current year owners !

Salesman probably sold (insert any other manuf. here) I also own a 1998 21', as far as I've heard or known any new 23's are good buys. Just make sure you check out that particular boat. I have seen 21's that were in terrible shape, due to owner misuse, can't blame the manuf for that. Good luck and keep us posted on the purchase/sale.

They have moved their manufacturing plant to the Carolinas with in the last couple of years and since then I have not heard much regarding frustrations of quality. But in the late 90 and early in 2000 is when the most frustrations were voiced. I look at their new boats all the time but until that boat has been in the water for a couple of years you don’t really know much. IF this boat doesn’t have / show problems by now you should be all right.

I agree as I haven't looked at any new ones, just look at it close but they seem to have been doing a good job lately as I have only have seen good remarks.

I have a 2000 sc21- quality is just fine- I've often heard of the quality issues of that time period but i don't see it in my boat

Thanks for your input, as we classic owners would like to hear they are building good boats
