Default Barnstable Gathering 2007 ?

Since I missed 2006 (working out of state) I'm hoping there will be a 2007. Any takers.

Well, it might be a mite early.... snow storm due in tonight, predicting 5 - 10" for my area...

But there's enough of us around, and a bunch of recent additions... so i'm guessin that when we come out of hibernation, this topic might just get some life to it !!!!

Hell, I'll be there this summer, group session or not !!

and a quick edit - just as a teaser, there is the New England Salt Water Fishing Show in RI, at the end of Mar--- any fishing fin-atics out there ?????

Sounds great couldnt make last years do to work on boat, transom. How. about a south side meet, ,wechmere, bass river and go to monomy litle striper action.picknet on flats more striper action would be more user friendly, less fog than runing the cut in chatum

Count me in. I know it is hard to plan so far in advance but one thing to consider for a Barnstable Gathering is launching ramps. Public launch ramps are at Sesuit Harbor in East Dennis which holds about 60 vehicles/boattrailers and Blish Point inside Barnstable Harbor which can accomodate just 30 rigs. There is also a launch at the Canal which I know nothing about. Weekends get very crowded at all Cape launching ramps. If not in the water by 8AM on a nice sunny day you might not get a parking spot. Something to think about. Many boats use Sandy Point for a day at the beach.

Pski - fYI - the launch ramps at the canal, at Sandwich, are excellant, I went there last year - nice double wide, any tide ramps, docks both sides, probably 60 rigs parking in the main lot and another 50+ rigs of parking across the street. I went there several more times during the season, trailering down from New Hampshire, never had a problem - Did try Blish Pt one time, was nowhere near as impressed, dock one side only, tough to use at low tide, limited, tight parking...

South side sounds interesting as well, I would be up for cruising around Monomoy with someone local who knew the area, but I also know that Nantucket Sound can get snotty in an afternoon breeze

Lot's of time for thoughts

The south side would be fun, but ramps aren't as accomodating, especially getting out towards Harwich and Chatham. Plus you have to get to those ramps even earlier than Sandwich/Barnstable, which would mean a really early start for most guys coming from off-Cape. On the other hand, fishing Monomoy in June is pretty sweet.

Now that my Seabird has a new trailer, I would be up for hauling that down there this year instead of my dad's Sceptre.

Boy, I hope you guys do it the last week of June-I'm going to be in West Dennis for that whole week. I'll probably be boatless, but I'd love to see some of the other rides-I'll race you in my yak

Guys-
**potential thread derailing comments***If you can't wait till your June gathering, the sunny Florida weather in April may be calling.........for $200 round trip. Meeting Carl and Jeanne Moesly will be a unforgetable time. With at least 24 folks coming, it will be a blast. We can arrange pick-up and delivery to/from the airport. Just trying to help fellow CSC members out..............

Make sure to come EARLY!! Quite a few times last summer, when it was a long weekend or really nice days the marina was full so people were having to find other places to put there boats in!!!! If this does happen I have a place to put in, depending on tide!!!! So if it comes down to it let me know !!! Could probally fit 10 or 15 vehicles !!
