Default Seacraft Hull Design

I was on my kayak the other day and drifted past a 26' sailfish CC, I always pass the boat but going buy slow I noticed that legendary Variable Deadrise Hull. Hmmm......on a sailfish? what? Sailfish is not a crappy boat, but it's not Seacraft quality ANYDAY. They are nice n' all but what the heck? WHY ! Im sure someone noticed this WAYY before me, but I never have. Whats the story behind all of this?

It has been know for a while that Sailfish uses the sc variable dearise hull design, but what I wanna know is why don't other manufacturers use it also?

Back through the history of this site there have been posts on a number of boats that have derived their design from that variable deadrise hull. I can't recall all the brands off the top of my head but a little searching through here will bring up at least a dozen in addition to Sailfish.

All the sailfish guys want to say its just like a SeaCraft, but upon further review since I saw a pic of both side by side at the bow the Sailfish does not have the strakes in the bow section at all like a SeaCraft. Thats why you never get pounded, Carl designed the strakes with an angle to them, as the water comes off on entry it traps air which cushions the impact, damn cleaver guy that Carl. Can't remember where I saw that pic, it was recent and would like to copy it, might have been THT.

Thanks Capt Chuck, thats why you are the Classic SeaCraft Guru of Florida. There is a big difference in the bow area, its just not having a variable deadrise. I will copy both this time by the way that avatar drives me crazy, I have what it a couple times
