Default T-Top for 20cc

My 20CC has a bimini top but am wondering if anyone has built a t-top out of pvc pipe, t's, etc. All the pieces seem to be available. PVC can be painted and probably wouldn't look too bad. Comments?

I am sure it would look very good in your driveway but that’s about as far as it would go. Just one 3 to 5 footer or trail ring the boat to the ramp going 55 mpr would finish it off. But I have seen at West Marine Stainless Steel brackets that some co has made and I guess the pre bent tubing to erecter set your own with screws instead of welding. I had a custom T top made and in my opinion that is the Only way to go. Sometimes you can find a used one that might fit.

Thanks FellowShip, not to dispute what you say but do you think the 2" PVC would come apart that easily? Even at 6.5 ft. tall it is pretty stiff. Just wondering. Seems like if a guy was to do the joints right it would only cost about $30 max versus $000's.

Thanks again.

Ha Hank

I found the perfect T-Top for you that would fit in your price range and would be much safer.

This is what you would call a personal T-Top

Even my custom build thick walled aluminum tube started cracking after 4 years of use that’s approx 200 trips. I had to bring it back for additional supports and to re weld the crack. PVC would Never hold up the amount of stress placed on things like T-Tops. It is a lot greater then you would think. I remember when I got my top the sales guy grabbed one end and I held onto the other end and then we dangled off the ground for approx 15 seconds before we put our feet back on the ground and it did not even flex and I still got a crack. What do you thing would happen it two 200 lbs tried that with PVC???
