Default Round 2 Ding Ding

While I'm still recovering, Susan the never daunted Martha Srewart of Yachting and Camping read my post about Ft Desoto. So she has requested me to judge interest, she has found 3 campsites ajoining along the deep water sea wall for Nov 11/12. They allow 2 tents and 6 people per site but I bet we could hide Jonas, put a tail and some eye black him and they'd think he was just another coon She can reserve them if we have some interest as its 6 months in adavnce on reservations now. There are also some motels with docks not tooo far away but that should be the easy part. I know this is just what you wanted to think about but we would have to get then as they will be gone very quickly.

South south St Petersburg, its a Pinellas County park so easy to find the website. Danny I thought it would be much easier with the kids, since they find a bunch of stuff to do and you just load the car.

Let me know they fill up fast and we will reserve them, 3 sites would be fine for 18 people 19 with Jonas doing the his best racoon imatation.
I do want to get to the east coast though. We would need to keep it somewhere around WPB or Stuart or it would still be too far for the Mijami guys. Capt Chuck anyplace you can think of, doesn't need to be camping but still reasonable.

I'll be there. The boat should be running by then and hopefully the motors will be broken in as well. See you there.

OK heres the plan - I have #190 reservered for 11/9-10-11, Susan wants to go Fri- the other sites I was looking at are 188 and 186 and was going to reserve them for Sat and Sun - the reason for sunday-- checkout is 11AM and kinda kills the day having to clear out. Reservations can be made for 11/9 today and 11/10-11 after midnight tonight. This was just my plan as these are all paid up front @$25 a day (adds up) and I wasn't sure who was coming and whether there would be people wanting to do Fri. If you want to add Friday on either 188 or 186 let me know and go reserve it NOW. As 3 sites on the water gets us plenty of seawall space so if we need more spots later interiors will work.
Here is the exact link for reserving by site - from where you are just click the site you want- I have 190 done and was going to nab 188 and 186 tonight- please let me know if you reserve one so I don't start cussing

Blue197320-

You should get over here and enjoy yourself! I will help you with any details for getting here. In response to the East Coast Gatherings, you guys are on a hiatus for a while. The tide will turn back to there........You have sooo many quality spots that all of us would go to.With all the years we have been on this site, all the gatherings only happened when one person or a few made the sacrafices to pull it together. There have been a bunch of good intentions that didn't happen. We are building a solid base for these gatherings. And members are doing the work to get and keep these events going. When folks believe people will show, then it gets a good draw!

Just an FYI, we will be at Shell Island on Memorial Day weekend, if Brian, Danny or Tow Boaat want to come out we will be there, if you want to camp thats fine if just a dropin thats fine too. Just an FYI, I will have my bait motel so I should have bait all weekend, that doesn't mean if you want to stop at the Way and get some more it will be turned out

Steve-Here is a link to the park Ft. Desoto Park . Dixon, I am checking the calendar. Should work out great. I will let you know ASAP. We should be able to get Brian, Resurrection, and the TowBoat from around here. Eggmont Key is right there too for those explorer types. For the East Coast plan in the next year----The Sebastian Area Park that Skiblet mentioned would be a great spot for camping and Peanut Island in WPB would also pull the Mijami group as you mentioned.
