Default Proposed NJ SeaCraft Blackfish & Bass Fishathon

Two quick things.

First, I want to thank Donny, Joe, Chris and others for trying to set something up at the Flying Cloud. The times just didn't work out for me.

Second, I have an idea that I want to pass by the team. I have a house in Highbar Harbor, NJ (right next to Barnegat Light on LBI). I am prosing a late fall (some time between mid November and early December) fishathon for Blackfish and Striped Bass. I have room for quite a few people at my house. I will probably take close to a week off during this time and welcome anyone (even you non NJ folks) to come.

Let me know what you think.

Peter

Peter
Just set the date and stick to it....I have tried a few times to get things together down this way ,,But times and dates dont always work out for everyone...Today was to be the date of AC. I went fishing and there were total 4 old SeaCrafts fishing next to me only about 600 yds from the Flying cloud Restaurant,I knew all of them and NONE go on this site.I wanted to have backing from some of the Classic SeaCraft members before I put in the work.. If I were you just set a date and run with it...I do not have a trailer and cant take a full day from work, I work 7 days. So since I was doing the work on the get together I set times and dates that worked for me..And it did not work out

Ah, Chris is welcome over any time. He knows where I live anyway, and he was the one who pulled my old SeaCraft out of the water. (guy in red cap)

Also, just to be clear this is a fishing trip and anyone from the CSC family (even Jason)
is welcome. My boat can easily handle 4 guys and if we have more people than boat space I am sure that we can figure something out.

Peter, you do need to be careful of who you invite. Ever since ScottM stayed at my place we've had to adopt a "NO SPOONING" ordinance.

Make it a tournament with a little calcutta action and we'll be in!

Rich,

I like your thinking about the tourney.

Jason,

It would be great to have some RI & Mass participation.

FYI, at this time of the year the Blackfishing should be a given. The bassing is a little less preditable. In 2005 we had awesome bassing. We had big schools of bass that you could catch by throwing metal & storm shads at them. We had a couple of days where we were cacthing 100+ bass. Last year was not as good. Mind you we still caught bass, but it was not as automatic (at least this was my experience. Richard, what is your take?)

If the spring run is any indication we should have a great fall for bass. I would also like to include night fishing in the fall, as that is when we have a lot of fun trying to net the fish in the dark with the tide running, dodging the bouys. Scott R is also in. You have 2 23 SF's for the tournament.
