At least I got permission to use the word "Classic SeaCraft" from Trayder and also permission from Bill Potter for "Potter Built" when designing the HDS for the hulls. This guy might have a Logo/Trademark infrigement with SeaCraft over this one ![]()

Jason and I spoke about this about 1 month ago. I am pretty sure that the eBay seller is also a Classic SeaCraft member
![]() It is time to call Paulie Walnuts (also a NJ resident) and ask him to pay a visit? ![]() ![]() All kidding aside should one of us approach him? If so what do we say? Peter

I see it one of two ways,
Commission or Litigation. I hope the guy that has a bid on one of his boot-leg shirts is not one of us! Copy right infringement no matter how you look at it.... See ya, Ken PS: I will be more than happy to get a raffle going to support the legal defense. FYI: CaptKern was checking out this thread at 8:18pm 9/26/2007, he knows we are not happy!!!!!!!!! This gets even better, after checking out CaptKern's feedback he has also done T-Shirts as well. Here is the link for the auction that has been closed. With all of us out there I'm not sure how this slipped through the cracks. Ebay CaptKern logged in again at 8:52pm, someone is nervous. ![]()

Hello? someone is nervous? I was just thinking of my reply and checking out my options of your threats upon me. First off let me tell you about my shirt designs..they are not made for the masses...I have Two real jobs..one of them a Party Boat captain..fishing the same waters as PeterB all the time. I have always as a hobby made shirts..since High school which was a long time ago So, when I purchased a Seacraft..there was no designs like I wanted....Seacraft sells just two shirts..no sweats...boring. So I made my own design..people at my marina saw it and said can you make me one..So I made a couple and I put them on Ebay. I have made all kinds..Grady,Mako, and have at the shows asked the high factory reps. Grady even thought the designs were neat..own words were "Hey its advertising for us" As for trademark...ok But if SeaCraft is concerned about my 10 shirts which advertise there boats..that I made about 10 dollars on..well OK...Now..as for No Bones...do I know you? Do you know me? Why would you threaten me with "kill Kill Kill" I did not advertise my shirts here...in fact you did. I have sold shirts for at least 15 years...tons of boat owners love what I have made them. I can guarantee..I am definitely in the red for this hobby. But you know what, its a great feeling when you are at a show or out fishing when you see someone wearing something you made for them. Kinda of a conversation starter. I did not Know that No Bones owns SeaCraft..but if you do..I am sorry that you are offended. Again..I did not put any shirts here...you did. As for PeterB...well I am in Barnegat..if you want to talk to me..Nice threat also with the Sopranos cartoon...I read your posts before and you seemed like a nice guy..we fish the same waters...But if me making a shirt design causes you to want to inflict harm..well I guess my impressions of you were wrong. Also NoBones..not sure what you meant by.."With all of us out there I'm not sure how this slipped through the cracks" What cracks? Is it the word "Classic" that offends you? Do you control all Ebay business? And who's all of us? I know hundreds of fisherman here and I am not sure they are one of you. Sorry If I offended anyone here..a simple E-mail would have surpassed and I could have talked to you...Do you think my SeaCraft designs are for money?.....I bet you don't know what embroidery machines, software..time and effort cost. I do it as a hobby. Boy I thought this was a Great Site..with nice people..lot of cool boats. I hope the majority on here aren't into inflicting harm because I made a shirt on Ebay. By the way many people from this site have contacted me and requested info on the shirts. So I know NoBones does not speak for everyone. Well have a good evening...PeterB..I will say hello some day when I see you out there...I may not be in my SeaCraft. |

Captkern,
I believe that I am a nice guy, as is Ken and Chuck. I can only speak for myself when I say that I was just blowing off some steam. In my post I did say all kidding aside. I know that you are not going to retire on the money that you make on those shirts. Let me explain why I feel the need to blow off some steam. This invaluable web site was started (and is still run) by a person who has funded this whole thing out of his own pocket. As far as I know, the only money he ever sees back on this site comes from the for sale adds, along with the profits (and they are small) on whatever merchandise we sell to our fellow members. Net/net, I am sure that he is in the red as far as running this web site. It is obvious that he keeps the site going because of the personal pleasure we all take in being members here. For the past three years I have been the one making most of tee shirts and the like for the web site. Any penny I make on the merchandise gets donated to the web site. Therefore, when I first saw your mechandise for sale on ebay I had mixed feelings. I do think that you have a very nice design. However, I could not understand how anyone could be selling something with the Classic SeaCraft name on it for a personal profit (however small) when we don't do that here. That's just my opinion. End of story. Peter

CaptKern,
PeterB pretty well said-it. If this web site that you say you enjoyed and that making shirts is only a hobby, why would you have not started it here?? You would have sold more then a couple. As far as the Kill, Kill, Kill it means what it means, Kill the shirts! Did you or did you not get permission from Trayder to use the "Classic SeaCraft" name ?? Trayder owns the rights to that name. Did you or did you not get permission from Bill Potter?? I think not. As far as the new SeaCraft we don't care. They caused enough problems for Trayder when he started this web site. There is no love loss for the "New SeaCrafts". I know what embroidery equipment costs. Have a close friend that has been in it professionally for the last 30 years. All that are on this site regularly support it every way we can. We held a raffle this past April of which the remaining procedes went to keep this great web site going. True, I do not speak for all on this site, but I do take it personal when someone tries to pirate what belongs here. Oh yeah, you are welcome for the free advertising here when I posted the link. Time will tell where it goes from here. Have a wonderfull day, Ken

Capt Kern
No threats here but Your way off base ! Bottom Line, YOUR "hobby" is capitalizing on three things that neither of which was your creativity ![]() 1. "Potter Built" 2. "Classic SeaCraft" 3. SeaCraft Co Logo/Trademark Great Site..with nice people..lot of cool boats are waiting for your penny profits to hit this web site's kitty. BTW: Change your Embroidery machine's software to read like OJ's Book "If I Did It" Lets see how many of those hundreds of Barnegat fishermen and Ebayers buy the shirt ![]()
