RESTORED '79 PIC'S

It took 9 months to restore this 1979 23' and another 3 months to figure out how to post pictures. I'm still learning so I apologize for any issues. I will post more once I get better. I have quite a few. Any questions shoot me an e-mail: ctv@vallegroup.com

What brand steering wheel and how did you make the center hub?

Glad to see you figured out how to share pix of the 23. It looks awesome. The chopped motor well looks sweet

. Was you Dad's boat @ McDougals in the spring? If so that is a nice inboard 23' too!

Wow.. Nice work. That one of the few 23's that was restored where the motor is still a shorty. But I think we have a new king of Gucci.. that storage box cover with the Compass Rose is the bomb.. That just smokes the Gucci wood work of Capt. Chuck.....

The steering wheel was a friend of mine's. It came off an old Merritt. The center hub was cut from a piece of mahogancy then sprayed with black engine paint with a coat of varnish over that.

Moving the transom splashwell back 10" is a huge difference. It allows for a lot more room to fish but keeps the original look to the boat.

My dad's 23' is kept at MacDougall's in Falmouth. His boat is next to go under the knife this winter.

Wow, Nice Job! The wood dash came out great. I have the same blue seas switch panel. My knees bump it once in a while and I wish I could find some type of guard to prevent that. Did you remove the front seat or did the boat come like that?

The front seat was removed because I felt it took up to much room and was hard to open. I use a cooler for a seat and had some cushions made for the backrest. The doors are bifold and open forward.

I haven't bumped my knees yet...
