Default Appox. how much should I mix?

I have a 4*8 sheet of plywood, that needs to be sealed with epoxy before going into the boat. Any rough idea how much I will need to do one side.

This will be a transom board...I have heard that I should thin down so it will penetrate better...Any thoughts?

Terry, George at G&S told me to make a flash coat to seal w poly. Mix w mek and thin to the thickness of water w/ acetone. I DON`T know about epoxy. I`ll see him tomorrow and ask him.Gotta get to work. Still lots to do.

yeah you definatly want to mix acetone in so it absorbs into the plywood before the next coat.

If your using epoxy, I would not thin it, I would use slow hardner on it, and do it in the evening when it is cool. It will take at least 2 coats, and I would wait a day between coats. I use a plastic spreader to evenly apply it, and I think it takes about 12 oz for the first coat, and 8 for the second. You don't want any puddles, just wet it out, light sand between coats.
Leave it facing up, and only do one side at a time. Epoxy migrates MUCH better than poly glass.
This is assuming your using epoxy.
