74 Tsunami Project ,It's getting there with pics.

Well,I'm finally closing in on the finish of my 1974 23 Tsunami.

****I have to thank many of you guys on this site for your help and knowledge to get me this far.****

It's will be two years this December.Every single thing has either been replaced, re glassed, re wired, or rebuilt
It has been a massive undertaking,although it was only weekends,and not many of those in the new england winter.

All the electronics such as the Fishfinder,Gps,Vhf, Radar,etc.,are all new,as are the 8hp Yammie kicker,and Scotty riggers.

Everything from the rubrail up,and inside,was painted with a two part urethane,made by Epifanes(Similar to Imron).

The deck floor,and engine box were covered with a non skid surface by rolling on a thickened coat of sand color gel coat.

Remaining work to be done,is to mount the outdrive,install the seating, the radar arch,paint the hull,and install the electronics,and have the canvas work and ising glass windows done .
Will definitely be out fishing with it in the spring.Oh yeah,also have to build the cabin doors.

Here's a few pictures,only showing what it looked like the day i got it,and what it looks like now.
When i finish it completely,I'll bore everyone with the whole tear down and rebuild project with pictures.

Looking very nice. By the number of rod holders and such, I would say you are serious about fishing.

Yep,
I'm a pretty serious fisherman.The boat will have four downriggers,and several other rod holders(14-18 total) on it,when its done.
We fish the Great Lakes for Salmon,and normally troll six to eight rods,with another six or eight at the ready,in unused holders.

I actually live much much closer to the salt than the lakes,and i envy some of the fish you guys catch,especially you florida guys.
I'd love to fish the ocean,if it didn't have that one nasty ingredient in the water.(salt).

If i kept the boat near home,I'd make a few trips to the salt,but seeing as i leave it 400 miles from home,it won't be happening soon.
It's kind of nice having a Seacraft on the Great lakes,because with the exception of a few guys,most people know nothing about them.

When i bought this boat They all thought i was crazy,it sat in a field for six years,and most of the guys never heard of a Seacraft Tsunami,so i got the boat and trailer for 1,000 bucks.
It was like the US buying Alaska for cheap,everyone thought Seward was nuts,boy were they wrong.

Thanks guys,Chuck,I was wondering what people would think of those cup holders.
We use them for all the small rigging crap,like the Planer board,and Downrigger releases,Drop weights,Hook rigs,Teminal tackle,Cell phones,and you name it.They really work great for all that kind of stuff.

And thanks again chuck for the info on wet sanding and buffing out the paint.I tried a small section,and it looks spectacular.

Dilligaf,
Believe it or not,i decided to keep the same original red hull color,because of your boat.I liked the way it looked in your previous posts.
I didn't raise the deck floor,as almost all of it was very solid.The exception was a small section under the seat,and i recored that only.

BTW, what do you get for speed out of yours?and what size prop are you running? Is yours taking a lot of water thru the scuppers?

Wow what a deal some guys have all the luck running into something like that. That boat wouldn't have sat around that long over here on the cape for that much money. I like the color i have a red 73 tsunami that i brought back from the dead. It looks like it went to a good home nice work
