Awesome!!! What was the weight? I am guessing 350 to 400 pounds.
Trolling, chunking or some other method? What size boat were you on and how far offshore?

The fish cored out at 230#'s. We were trolling ballyhoo 12 miles offshore in a 29' privateer. It is always a good time, just wish our fishery was a strong as the blue fin fishery up north.

Nice haul brother! The wind has been cranking here but I managed a Sailcat off the dock. Maybe we could trade a fillet or something ![]()

Nice BFT. If you found a white sluggo in its stomach, its probably one of mine!

I sure wish they would swim down here to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. I would love to catch one. I guess I will have to move to N.C.

Wow! My wife saw the photo and said "The biggest tuna I ever caught was wrapped in aluminum."

Thanks Capt Chuck.
I still have not broken out the slugos and Rapalas yet. I have been telling the guys that we need to try it, but no takers yet. All that fish had in its stomach was 15-20 small pinfish. The day after that fish another buddy of mine caught one that was 101" and cored out at 489#. There are a few fish here, not in big numbers yet. Hopefully after christmas the bite will be on. |
